I came across this and thought I would post the official Alfa Romeo stance on the correct oil for the 2.9V6 engine. There is a clear demarcation based on 'Chassis number' early ones being 0W-40 and later ones being 5W-40. The difference also is the 0W oil is a different Fiat specification 9.55535-Z2 as opposed to GH2.
